My name is Ashley Klitzing, better known to my students as Mrs. K. I have returned back to teach at St. Paul's this year after having served at Orange Lutheran High School in the Admissions Department since 2011. Before that, I had the privilege of teaching and coaching at St. Paul's from 2008-2011. This is my 10th year working in Lutheran Ministry. I feel blessed to be back serving alongside the wonderful staff at St. Paul's!
I was born and raised in Southern California. I knew that God gave me a passion for teaching and a desire to work with children at a very young age. I attended Concordia University, Irvine, where I studied Education and played on the Women's Volleyball Team. I graduated in 2008 with a BA in Liberal Studies, a Minor in Art, and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential.
In 2008, I married my husband, Nate. Nate teaches Theology at Orange Lutheran High School where he is also the Assistant Varsity Boys Basketball Coach. We have two daughters, Siena and Zoe who attend St. Paul's. We worship at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, and we also live in Orange - we love being a part of this community!
I have a very large family, and I love spending time with them. The beach is my "happy place." I love traveling, trying new restaurants, enjoying a good cup of coffee, cooking, and reading.
This school year, I will be teaching 6th Grade Literature, 6th Grade English, and Middle School Art. I can't wait to see the academic growth that will take place in each one of my students. Most of all, I am excited to share the love and saving grace of Jesus with them as we learn and grow together. I look forward to seeing all that God has planned for us this year!
